Donating Your Vehicle is
Easy, Convenient and Fast!
Dear Vehicle Donor:
Thank you for considering the donation of your vehicle to the American Lung Association of Nevada’s program. Your donation will help us provide services to people with lung disease, help us save lives with our educational programs and will help fund local and national research projects.
In order for your vehicle to qualify for this program, it must be free of any loans or other liens. It does not have be running. You should have a clear Title in your name. A representative from the towing company can answer any questions you may have about the Title.
Your donated vehicle will be sold “as is” at auction. Our auction partner will handle the towing, sale and necessary paper work at no cost to you. After the vehicle is sold, the proceeds are sent to your local American Lung Association.
We work hard to secure the highest bid possible for your donated vehicle—this benefits both you as the donor and the Lung Association’s local programs. When the vehicle is sold at auction, we try to secure a purchase price that is as close to the “fair market value” as possible.
Vehicle donors may take a charitable contribution deduction on their income tax return, to the extent allowed by law for gifts of property to the American Lung Association of Nevada. We will send you notification of your donated vehicle’s gross selling price. The selling price is the value that is tax-deductible. If you believe that the car is worth less than $500, you may deduct the fair market value up to $500. If your car sells for more than $500, you may deduct the price of the sale. Please contact your tax consultant for advice on this matter.
This is an excellent opportunity to help the American Lung Association of Nevada with its activities related to lung health and clean air while providing you with a potential tax deduction for the vehicle’s selling price. Please take a moment to read about the American Lung Association of Nevada and the programs we provide in Southern Nevada.
Thank you again for making this generous donation.
Sincerely,
Allison Newlon Moser
Executive Director
