Lung Disease
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States, and it's the only major disease with an increasing death rate. There are an estimated 112,000 people in Nevada with COPD. Here are some resources to help:

Better Breathers Clubs

Patient/family support groups for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD, provide instruction to lung patients and their families through monthly meetings. The meetings feature lectures from health care professionals, and an opportunity for sharing information with other members. Studies have shown that well-informed patients require fewer hospital stays and doctor visits.
